Replays

If you want to publish replay here, mail it with your comments to MacMark.

General hints: To watch a replay put it into your "Replay" folder located in your "Warcraft III Folder" folder. Start "Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne" (or "Reign of Chaos" if it's a vanilla game replay), select "Single Player" and then select "View Replay" and select this file from the list.

Game version 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12 should be able to play each others' replays. Game versions 1.13 and 1.14 were major patches and their replays aren't compatible with earlier versions and vice versa. Game version 1.15 cannot play older replays. You can run old replays by having multiple game version installed. And Blizzard promises a solution for the future:

Will replays work across game versions?
Because of the way that replays are generated, they currently cannot be viewed across game versions. However, we’re investigating methods to overcome this and hopefully can allow it in the future.

Master and commander 2 (The Frozen Throne 1.16)
It's a 2v2 game. My ally left the game early.

Then I took control of the abandoned night elf base and build a second ancient of war and basic units only: huntress and archers. In my orcish base I built two barracks and grunts only. I made his army a control group and mine the other. Hot-keyed his and my unit producing buildings, setting the way points onto his and my hero.

The basic idea is to perform a pretty basic rush and it worked again. I killed my two opponents on my own.

Master and commander (The Frozen Throne 1.15)
It's a 3v3 game. One of our allies left the game right in the beginning. The enemy told us to "please leave".

I told my remaining partner where we will rush. Then I took control of the abandoned human town hall in the west and built a base with two barracks, a black smith, built a hero with devotion aura and basic units only: footmen and riflemen. In my orcish base I built two barracks and grunts only. I made his army a control group and mine the other. Hot-keyed his and my unit producing buildings, setting the way points onto his and my hero.

The basic idea is to perform a pretty basic rush and it worked again. We won.

Misdirection (The Frozen Throne 1.14)
In this little game an undead comes a knockin' on my (Quiztar's) base's front door and finds his Death Knight Dead on Arrival and then his team tries rushing the far ally of mine and my team holds him off while I settle the score with the undead scoundrel in order to keep him from building more units like abominations and necromancers and they enemies soon cringe and give up. Twas a good game (gg).

4 versus 4 near dead (The Frozen Throne 1.14):
We (MacMark's team) lost all of our four original bases. The enemy was unstoppable killing them one after one. But that was only the beginning. Three of us rebuilt on new mines and upgraded to tier 3. The enemy was relying on ground units with only few anti air. I (MacMark) moved to gryphon riders and one of my partners to taurens. We destroyed any expansion try of the enemies and won in the end.

Dragons in 3v3 (The Frozen Throne 1.14):
Here're two 3v3 replays showing how to get some real big nice dragons to harass the enemy with.

3 versus 2 heroes (The Frozen Throne 1.14):
The undead uses a ghoul to trouble the orc and distract him from creeping and getting lumber. Orc is teching and has during the whole game no barracks. He relies on his 3 heroes, wind riders, troll batriders and some kodo beasts. Undead plays the usual ghouls and fiends (with web) and statues game. In the end orc claimed a second mine while undead is running out of gold. The final battle lets undead resign and orc kept his three heroes alive.

Goblin Zeppelins (The Frozen Throne 1.14):
The undead player uses his goblin zeppelin pretty wise. He does surprise attacks and retreats just in time. Furthermore he uses the zeppelin to monitor the enemy's moves and the enemy's possible expansion points. Although undead is hero rushed by orc and undead gets his first hero later he's the main attacker. It's interesting to see undead save his units from death by retreating and dancing around the attacked one or moving back the whole army. In the end both mines are empty and only undead is able to claim a new mine. Undead wins the final battle and orc resigns.
